Picture walk at the May Market

Just want to share a few photos I took while on a picture walk with J this morning. When she saw the huge row of porta-johns, she said "Wow! Look at those mailboxes!" This is one of the things I dearly love about being a mom - getting access to an excitedly developing brain that is learning language and exploring classification. As she encounters new objects and ideas, she applies words she already knows. In this case, she was presented with a row of boxes with little doors and slightly curved tops. Her impulsive and flexible brain called up the word "mailboxes."  I wrote a little more about this kind of thing in my post Hats, Glasses, and Floodlights.
