Cakes and Treats Series. 2018-ongoing. 8.5” x 11”, ink on paper
Like the Tree Girls Series, we take turns adding layer upon layer to these sweet treats, leaving them for one another in designated mailboxes, with labels like “ready for mom” and “Janine still working.”
Scrap Series, 2019-ongoing
In this series, we work with collage, irregularly shaped paper, notes, and scraps of drawings.

Collaborative drawings with my daughter, Janine. We take turns adding to the drawing, scanning and printing in between each new layer. The drawings grow rhizomatically as we respond to each other’s imagery and mark making.

Foot-Tracing Series, 2012. When my daughter was a year and a half old, drawing meant having her foot traced. I shared her desire to trace objects, especially objects in motion. She placed objects on the paper, then tried to play with them or move them before I had traced all the way around the object. Strawberry smears, crumbs, kneaded eraser bits, and stray marks all found their way into the drawings.
