Foot-Tracing Series, 2012. When my daughter was a year and a half old, drawing meant having her foot traced. I shared her desire to trace objects, especially objects in motion. She placed objects on the paper, then tried to play with them or move them before I had traced all the way around the object. Strawberry smears, crumbs, kneaded eraser bits, and stray marks all found their way into the drawings.
